Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be Catholic to access your counselling services?

No. The primary purpose of Rosette Chidiac Counselling Services is to offer you the best professional support to help you meet your wellbeing needs. Your culture, beliefs and background will be respected when seeking my support.

By professionally identifying as a Catholic Social Worker, I am showing my commitment to the Catholic faith, teachings of the Church and respect for human life from conception to death. I also recognise that some may feel more comfortable working with a Counsellor who shares an understanding of their faith and welcome their enquiry into these services. However, you do not need to be Catholic to seek support.

What fees are involved with Counselling?

A price list is available on the Services Page. Payments will be received via Cash or EFTPOS. Payment methods will be explored in our initial session.

Individual Counselling may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan. To access a Mental Health Care Plan please contact your GP and request a referral, using my Medicare Provider Number (Medicare Provider No: 6148731Y).

Depending on your level of cover, you may be able to access a rebate through your Private Health Insurance. Contact your Health Fund to determine your level of cover.

Does everything we discuss remain confidential?

Yes! Counselling is a safe and confidential space.

The only time any information will need to be shared is if I hold concerns for your safety, the safety of a child or I am subpoenaed by the Courts. These limits of confidentiality will be discussed in our first session and explored again as we continue working together.

Can children and young people access Rosette Chidiac Counselling Services?

Presently, Rosette Chidiac Counselling Services is able to provide limited services for children and young people (those aged 18 and over). Please reach out to discuss if these services will be the right fit for you and your child. Please be advised, I am a mandatory reporter. I also do not write court reports.

Will you be able to provide me a diagnosis or assessment?

No. Rosette Chidiac Counselling Services does not offer assessments or provide a diagnosis. Please speak to your GP for support in finding an appropriate service.

What happens if I cannot make it to my appointment?

Sometimes, life happens and it’s difficult to make it to an appointment. Where possible, I will attempt to reschedule your appointment. Check out the Cancellation Policy for full details on notifying me of a cancellation or requesting a reschedule.
